The artwork by San Antonio-based Latinx artist Jose Villalobos takes a deep look at dichos, or sayings, and consejos, or advice, that elders pass on to youth that specifically reflect traditional Latinx values surrounding men and women. Tied deeply to Latinx roots and traditions, the exhibition "Por Maricon, The Measures and Violence of Masculinity" is an examination of masculinity and the violence it carries. "Por Maricon, The Measures and Violence of Masculinity" - June 5–Aug. She was one of hundreds who marched during a "Pride For Black Lives Matter" rally in June of 2020. KERA Dallas resident skates off wearing her Pride-inspired roller skates with fuzzy pompoms. The event is $60 and includes the show, an entrée and two drinks. The organization works to build community in which "people regardless of health or economic status have access to justice." They are asking people to join them in solidarity.
